The border of the image has sawtooth edges, is this a sign of a modern printer? Maybe it is just the scanner that did that, I don't know, but is that something to be worried about?

I don't think that this is a modern piece, it would be very difficult to forge a postmark message and cancellation on this item.Sometimes postcards came in a booklet that were torn out as needed maybe that is what you are seeing.I am 100% certain that this is an original postcard.

I don't mean the paper border, I mean the image border. It has a sawtooth like print pattern, and the rest of the image is sort of fuzzy, as if it was copied from an original. I don't mean to hijack the thread, I'm just wondering if this is a cause for concern.

No cause for concern,I see what you are talking about.The card in hand is much more clear than the scan I think I used a 200 resolution when I scanned.
