Hi,

I got that Besitzzeugnis - Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz issued to Alois Goedl, Grenadier from 4.Gren.Rgt. 38.
I can't find the 38th Grenadier Regiment as an active unit - any ideas ?

Infanterie-Regiment 38 was reclassified as Jäger-Regiment 38 of 8. Jäger-Division. The citation was awarded by a hospital and it is pretty common for such issuing authorities to get the unit (and rank) designations wrong on Wound Badge citations.

I understood it was a hospital in Germany, but didn't think about the possibility of a mistake.
