Hoping that Andreas, or anybody able to help for that matter, can assist me with this writing. Simply can't make much of it out. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Carl

This is a tough one, the handwriting is giving me real trouble... - Sorry, I am drawing some blanks here.
Here's what I can make out:
"2. III. 40.
Lieber Kamerad [...] !
Aus meinem neuen Standort
die [...] Grüsse. Heil Hitler
[signed]
Bitte mir heim zu berichten, für
wieviel [...] ich bis Ende April
[...] bekomme! Besten Gruss [signed]
D.T. S.S. Res.
K.L.V.
Dachau 3 K.
bei München"
...meaning:
"2 March 40.
Dear Comrade[...] !
The [...] greetings
from my new garrison.
Heil Hitler
[signed]
Please notify me at home on
how many/much [...]
[/I]I will get [...] until the end of April! Best greetings [/I] [signed]
D.T. S.S. Res.
K.L.V.
Dachau 3 K.
by Munich"
I must admit I am not even 100 % sure I got the capital letters of the abbreviations at the end right and just what exactly those abbreviations mean. (apart from the obvious that they have something to do with the Konzentrationslager [= K.L.] at Dachau)
KLV is the abbreviation for Kinderlandesverschickung...The evacuation of children from the bombed cities to safer facilities in the countryside...
Or perhaps Konzentrationslagerverwaltung...Concentration Camp Administration...Interesting, thanks for sharing!
That's right: Kinderlandverschickung was my initial thought as well; but I quickly discarded it as implausible due to the SS & Dachau connection.
Thank you kindly HPL, I already knew that it was from an SS man at KZ Dachau, but the writing really had me stumped. You managed to decipher far more than I did!
Regards,
Carl
