Just to share a piece of history, an officer passed away in a Lazarett in Aalborg in Denmark. sad he pass away a year after the war ended by his serious wounds. Denmark didnt have any battlefronts so maye he must have been transported to Denmark

He dies at the Lazarett in Aalborg, and Aalborg had maily Luftwaffe Airfields Aalborg(See), Aalborg-Norholm, Aalborg/Os so perhaps he was in a Luftwaffe lazarett Lw.-Lazarett 12/XI(1944-45) or Lw.-Lazarett 13/XI

No; it says he died on 13th May 1945.

June 1946 was when the family finally learned of his fate.

Yes, you are right, he died on 13th May 1945 and as written in the paper Nach sorgenvollemwarten und erhielten wir erst jetzt die traurige Nachricht, that they got the sad news late.

Either way, the poor guy died After the war was over....One wonders just what his wound Was? Belated death from the closing days of the war? A vengeance killing After the war? At least he got to see the end of the war (assuming he was conscious)
