It says (ont the left side): Eigentum (Property) + the name Karlmax Linhart (? I'm not sure about that - this would be something for HPL2008, THE specialist for Kurrentschrift).

Left page: Ein wertvolles Buch für Dich und "Deine Jungen". A precious book for you and "your boys". As a memento of the Yule (Christmas) of 1938 which was the probably happiest and most glorious one for every German.
    Dein Mütterlein. Your mummy.

What is your mother-tongue? There are members here from all over the world who could translate this into your native language.

Sorry for the double post, but today the forum has massive problems!

A nice piece and surely worth 10 Euros. I have not seen it. I have a lot of books as Wolfgang knows.

Thanks, although that's a title I would never claim for myself!

I agree with your transliteration and translation.

Don't keep your light behind the bushel. A pleasure when my two favorite authorities levy themselves to the task.

And no "crimped prongs," but something actually new!

How nice to see Andreas and Wolfgang in the same thread and in a discussion about a book!

Neither a "crimped prong," nor a stitch faerie dogma elevated into madness.

Needless to say, Bulgaria in 1938 was ever more in the Axis sphere of influence and on its way later to join the Drei Maechte Pakt!
