I have just bought this red Postsparkassendienst/Postal Savings service, containing
Pages 40 and complete but a bit worn. Do anyone know more about this postal book and the use of it. I guess it was used for some sort of savings?

Original, and nice example of a savings book, as you yourself have stated above. Small red cards were also issued to the owners in addition to these books.

this is a manual for employees of the postal savings bank service.

it contains examples of forms etc.

the two pages you are showing have printed on them facsimiles of what where then forms of the postal savings bank and under them are notes describing which color inks are to be used when filling out and stamping the forms etc. the manual, at least the pages shown, is designed to show employees how correct and correctly filled out forms are to look.

Indeed it is, I misread the title page. The member's card that I mentioned earlier, is actually shown on the open page shot above (page 23 of the booklet).

yes, it's totally understandable because at first glance you are looking at savings and ID forms but on closer examination they are "examples" of the real thing.
