    Hi,

Thought of sharing here with you some images of this interesting Diplomatic German passport, issued before the end of the Weimar Republic and used up to 1932, before the coming of Hitler and the Third Reich. The Jewish holder, Dr. Frtitz Norden was a senior translator for the German Foreign Office and participated at the famous Loccarno Conference and the Young Plan talks in 1929 and 1930. This passport was issued in 1927, and he passed away in 1932, while staying in Switzerland. I could say he was lucky enough to go before things got worse a year later...

Great piece of history Neil, got a rare duck there. I love the history of paperwork. Locarno got the Germans all hot and bothered over the Danzig question again. Herr Norden may have missed the fiasco, but he was present when some of the treaties were made that helped Hitler justify starting the war.

    Hi Carl and Jay,

You are right, surely was lucky to not being there when it all started going wrong...
