I just bought this beauty. The seller did the red arrows, not me. I was wondering if Rommel actually flew, or was he just posing. I have seen another foto where he was in the plane, apparantly to fly. Incidentally, that is Marseille with his back to the camera - maybe giving him some tips. Lord knows he could give ANYBODY tips on how to fly!

Yes Rommel was a qualified pilot and apparently often flew his Feisler Storck on recce missions during his advances. Cant ID the aircraft that he is sitting in though on your picture, am sure someone will pinpoint that for you, nice picture! 2 famous ww2 personalities on one.

Thanks for the info! It is my understanding that he is sitting in a ME109. That is what the former owner of this foto told me. Yes, two RKT with DIAMOND holders in one foto!
