This could perhaps be a funeral of an officer
There is a written text on the reverse, but I cannot read the text, but I can read the year 5/3 1941, and it is a funeral, perhaps marine.
Can anyone tell/ guess more about this funeral ?
Regards
John

What makes you think it's a funeral?
The text says:
"Einweihung
der Gemeinschaftshalle
Ob.St.Arzt [= Oberstabsarzt] Dr. [...]
bei der Ansprache"
...i.e.:
"Opening ceremony
of the community hall
Oberstabsarzt Dr. [...]
during his speech"
(Sorry; I can't quite make out the naval physician's name.)
Perhaps the ceremony was dead boring.....?
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'
In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
Hi HPL2008
Thank you for your reply, of course it is not a funeral, there is a music band, I made a mistake.
