My understanding of them is that they were forced labor camps usually for foreigners relocated for that purpose.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. So this was used by a German worker, not forced laborer? seems it was a "local" working at the camp?
Neil.
My interpretation is that it allows the owner of the ausweis to enter the camp,I see nothing to indicate that he is local or German, maybe someone else can do a better interpretation.

Hi Neil, is that a full scan of the pass? Or is there more to it?
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Neil,
It is hard to tell anything specific from the scan shown. Is there a date anywhere on the Ausweis? I was able to find a listing of firms that used forced labor and there is one in Waldmannslust. Here is the link: German Firms That Used Slave or Forced Labor During the Nazi Era
I can't be sure that this particular Lager housed forced labor for that firm, or that your Ausweis didn't belong to German personnel authorizing them to enter the Lager grounds for any number of reasons. Just a possibility and perhaps a point of reference for starting some research.
Best,
Bill
