A cool picture, but its really too bad that there aren't any closer ups of his face, insignia and such.. if it came from a group of photos, is it possible that there is another pic of him somewhere?
Regards,
Finn
This is the only one i have, the others were sold separately at auction, there were better frontal views but i was out bid, sorry.
Oh ok. do you think you could get in contact with any of those bidders? maybe you could see a copy of the photo on the net, a little bit of high hopes, but a face view would really help.
Regards,
Finn
This was quite some time ago, whats the chance that one of the higher bidders is a member of this forum? That would be nice huh?
If thats the case, lets hope they take a look here!
Regards,
Finn
my eyes are not what they used to be, but it looks to me that he has a leather greatcoat- what I call the long coats. but it would be sweet to have one & he is tall. I can never find any pants from any army , that are long enough, I'm only 6 feet tall? I did find one pair of U.S. green , but not sure if they are ww2, or Korea. sorry I got off the subject of your thread. I do apoligize sir. good luck & hope you find out who he is.
Are you sure it is a Jaeger Rgt as I can not find any reference to a 272 Jaeger Rgt (or Gebirgsjager)? There was a 272 Infantry/Grenadier Rgt that belonged to 93 Infantry Division.
Thats what it was titled as at the auction I won it from, thats all I know.
bowlin,
I was looking over this site and stumbled across this General:
General der Infanterie Kurt von Tippelskirch
Perhaps this is your man? General der Infanterie Kurt von Tippelskirch or perhaps
General Bohme or Bohme-Bourges.
Dan
