    No idea about the plane, but the Pilot sure did an Amazing job Landing it intact! A Hell of a fly boy!

    Subj: Preliminary interrogation of S/Sgt JESSEN, mechanic, 20 years old.

    S/Sgt RUBIN, gunner, 19 years old.

    Who made an emergency landing in a B 17 G, 2 km south of Sonthofen-Allgäu on 25 February 1945 at 1255 hours.

    S/Sgt JESSEN mechanic “

    S/Sgt RUBIN gunner “

    The Squadron:

    The plane had, according to report, a white “W” in a black square and the number 338648 on the fin, besides a green “H” on the fuselage, beside it a white star. Furthermore, to the left of the nose: “B 17 G – 90 – B O and a green ring with 12 bombs. It belongs, according to records, to 486. BG, 835. BS what has indirectly been confirmed by the interrogated man.

    The complete fin was, according to report, of yellow color. The plane was downed, according to information given by the prisoners, by flak over the target.

    The targets at Memmingen, Munich and Neuburg a.d. Donau, shown by the records, were reported to Air District Headquarters VII, Ic.

    We point to the report on the looting of the plane, reported by Airbase Kaufbeuren.

    Copy is sent to Air District Headquarters VII, Ic.

    "what has indirectly been confirmed by the interrogated man." Sounds like the crewmen were not too helpful or cooperative either! Thankfully, they only had to wait 2 months and it would all be done in any case!
