I was just thinking the same line,Gary. Right now, WWII histories are becoming very popular sellers. It just may be Worth the 2 grand to have it translated.... William

I have looked into several people translating it, but they all want around 2000 dollars to do the whole journal which is money I just don't have at the moment. I will keep you informed
I bet you won't need to spend anything on getting it translated. Someone in the hobby I'm sure would be willing to do it for nothing purely because it is a rare opportunity to read something like this first hand. I know if I had the knowledge I would consider it a privilege to translate and as it is an interesting historical document it would be a fascinating opportunity.

$2000 is far to much for translation. It is not too hard to translate it because handwriting is clear and it is not written in old-fashioned German scipt. If You are interested I can find You a translator from Estonia, maybe You will just send 1-2 pages by e-mail.

Hello all, my name is Jason, I have recently been cleaning out my grandmothers home and come across my Grandfathers personal diary from Africa in WW2. My grandfather was Bruno Fricker and was Rommel's personal chef and close friend. The diary is titled experience in Africa December 1942 and is 74 pages of writing. I am wondering if anyone knows of anywhere where this could be translated and if anyone has any idea of what something like this may be worth. Thank you very much for your help. I have pictures of the journal if anyone would like to see it. It is in remarkably good condition for its age. Attachment 238634Attachment 238635
As Paul says this is not just any document but an historical one which really needs to be translated. I know there are publishers that may be interested in this diary and the Imperial War Museum should be consulted too as they would probably love a copy for their archives. I would certainly look into publication as who knows what historical data and information lies within the pages. What a great piece to own though and thanks for showing it. Regards, Tim.

Very good Jason. Keep the original in your custody, preferably at all times. You never know with people these days. This document is more than likely to contain important history and deserves translation. Could you post the first page in a good resolution? Please
