Here is an edition of the Guernsey Evening Press from 5th of April 1941. It shows how the Guernsey paper had been taken over by the Germans with a large piece in English and German regarding sabotage made the front page. The paper may have been printed by the Guernsey evening Press but it was strictly monitered by the Germans who also introduced there own bits of propaganda. The local typesetters would purposely make minor spelling mistakes in articles to let the locals know that it was a German piece rather than something based on accurate fact, this also happened here in Jersey.
Once common and overlooked these newspapers are now becoming highly sought after by collectors and they don't turn up like they once did.
All the best from Jersey.
