If the Wehrpass was up to date - and it does look like it was then the photo is definitely of someone else as the wehrpass owner only won one award - Wound Badge In Black which tallies with his wounding in July 1941 - but the soldier in the photo has 3 awards, and is missing the one award that he should be wearing according to the entry in the WP. It might of been in the WP a long time but there have been 66 years since the war ended and I think it was put in there at some point in those 66 years - who he is I have no idea.
Correct; like I said it is definitely a different man. Also note that the Wehrpass holder had only been promoted to Gefreiter on 1 August 41 (less than a month before he was KIA), while the man in the photograph is an Unteroffizier.

I wish my German was good but the only stuff I know I learnt from reading Wehrpasses, Soldbucher etc lol

Maybe the soldier in the photo is a brother or cousin of the soldier in the Wehrpass and the medals belong to the photo soldier which is why the medals and WP have remained together.

Hucks, you may be right as they said that three brothers served, two KIA and one survived. So this could be a photo of the brother who was also killed or the one that survived?
