The "Wunschkonzert der Wehrmacht" ("Wish/Request Concert of the Wehrmacht") was a hugely popular morale-boosting music program designed to strengthen the bond between Front & Homefront...Playing popular/requested tunes of the period amid jokes and skits, much like a Bob Hope USO Show...It was broadcast throughout Europe and a film was produced as well, which can be seen on Youtube... My German grandmother always remembered the Wunschkonzert with great fondness...The written dedication reads "In remembrance of Peace and the coming joyful days in our Reich, Your Annemarie"...1942-dated, when things were still looking pretty good for them...
