The naval installation security-guard ID is interesting, the other items such as the Arbeitsbuch, the discharge paper and the doctor's note are common...I would offer $60.00 and see what happens...just my opinion! Glenn
A fair assessment Glenn !!

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Thanks gang!
The seller was really talking up how rare the metal case was... I think I'll pass.
The metal cases are not quite as rare as some believe. Although they aren't very common items, one can find various forms of documentation with them given time. If the seller was quoting silly money, steer clear. As has already been said above, there is nothing extraordinary on offer, but nice items nonetheless.
Regards,
Carl
p.s. Don't be too surprised if they are offered to you again, for less.
It might be rare but it doesn't necessarily mean desireable and valuable.
Some items are fairly common but command a high price due to desireability. Other, rarer items don't equate to value because no-one wants them, or their niche on the market is limited such as the above.
