A brief history, A mutual friend of my daughter , her grandfather was a total fascist before and during the war and openly aired the views of fascism but was not connected to Mosely, i think his faction was even more extremist, he used to distribute these , amongst the followers and anyone else who would listen, after the war he collected a very large amount of Third Reich material, helmets, caps, awards , books of the period, and also ,the fact that he was a garage owner specialising in motor cycles, had another collection of NSU, BMW, and ZUNDAPP bikes, mostly with sidecars. After his death most of the collection was left to his eldest girl, my daughters friends mother, over the years a lage proprtion of this was either given away or vanished. The mother died recently and her relatives descended of her flat that was sealed by the police, broke in, and took large amounts of the collection, leaving the daughter with very little, what they took amongst other things was a lovely looking transitional m17, original paint and stenciled decals, miniature daggers, about 7 in all, a luftwaffe dagger with portapee, an army sword, two fully original SS collar tabs, arm eagles, breast eagles, cuff titles, the list goes on, their only reason for doing this was money, they tried to sell some of it to a jewish dealer and got £250, the remainder is still with them or been thrown away because the dealer told them noone would be interested, i know for a fact that these items had been valued by a reputable dealer before she died because i advised her to do it, if memory serves correct, the figure he came up with was £6-7K,, sisterly love eh
