Default Interesting Group to the 93 ID

Just got this group which is a photo album some wartime company orders / letters and other docs plus a nicely produced wartime Divisional pamphlet on their role in Operation Barbarossa , including the advance through the Baltic States to Leningrad.

93 ID was a veteran Army Group North Divison and ended up in the Kurland pocket.

The signature is from Divisional commander Otto Tiemann who was awarded the Ritterkreuz on 28/3/1943 whilst commanding the Division in Northern Russia.

The Album and group are from an Officer who was captured at the end of the war and went into American captivity at Dachau , after the war he worked for the American Aurhorities in the Motor pool at Dachau.

Attached are the patches from his American uniform !!

    Paul,

Nice group, could do with his smock, facinating that a lot of the former enemy worked for their captors for a long time. I think some of the old boys knocking round Bergen were former WH, till 90s some of them still worked in Bus depot/MT/Mechanics.

    Regards
