KVK 2 urkunde 306. Infanterie-Division.
At that time the division was a component of Armeeabteilung Hollidt that was on the northern flank of HG Don after the Russian counter-offensive at Stalingrad.
Thanks for the information much appreciated.
The Volksbund says he is buried at Casino.

Vorname:
Werner

That could be him but it could also be another soldier. Unless you have other details for the soldier on the citation (such as date of birth) to confirm the Volksbund entry then there is no-way of knowing without access to his Wehrpass or Soldbuch. If he stayed with 306 ID for the remainder of the war then it won't be him as that division was destroyed in August 1944 as part of 6 Armee (reformed in March 1943 from Armeeabteilung Hollidt) in Romania.
