Major Graf Seherr Thoss - Panzer Inst. Abt. 559

Hi.,

I bought some third reich documents, and they are signed by Graf Seherr Thoss, Major und Abtlgs.-Kdeur. The documents have stamped: "dienststelle der feldpost Nr. 38583", and make reference to "Panzer Inst. Abt. 559".
I cant find information of this major in the internet, so I need help.

Here is a Graf von Seherr-Thoß, Ernst Hans Christoph Theobald 1882-1966.
Promoted from 'Major' to 'Obersleutnant' but he left the armed forces as Generalmajor in 1935

I stumbled over an index over members of the German nobility fallen in WWII, but frustratingly the Seherr-Thoss mentioned here turned out to be an 'Unteroffizier.'

There are two such names in the 1944/45 rangeliste with one in the Dienstaltersliste S list and one in the Dienstaltersliste T listings - both listed as Obestleutnant's with one assignment showing OKH (In 3) while the other shows Wehrkrs.Reit. u. Fahrschule Lyck.
However in the 1940 Dienstaltersliste there is only one such name, as a Major, and assigned to the Wehrkrs.Reit. u. Fahrschule Lyck while the name then appears in the 1941 Dienstaltersliste, again as a Major, with Kavallerie Rgt 4.

The "officer" in the photo may be the major graf seherr thoss, but i though it seems a lieutenant, I'm right?

There are no officers in that picture. The only one not wearing a Panzer wrapper is an NCO.
