Mein Kampf silver edition with personal message from Hitler
Hello all,
I would like your opinions about this edition of mein kampf.
I don't own the book!!!!
A guy i know has it.
It has a personal writing in it from Adolf Hitler to Gauleiter Rudolf Jordan.
A silver plate is added to the front of the book.
This is the book, and the Dutch collectors will remember, that earlier this year made the news here in Holland.
It was for sale at a gallery store in Amsterdam.
Book came out of a estate of an Amsterdam family who wanted to stay anonymous.
So there is no further information about it.
My question is;
Is it original?
Is the signature of Adolf Hitler original?
If original, what value should he put on it for selling it?

Hi Raymon,
For me the handwriting looks hesitant, not free flowing and an attempt at forging the signature. The actual silver book plate is a cheap, risible attempt that would not pass muster as an official gift from Hitler in a million years. IMO it's total junk.....
Still, best wait for opinions from the true 3rd Reich bibliophiles on this forum.

Guess the question I would have is would I own this?, No. Here is an amber variant with a different center plaque that sold at auction for 8500.00 Euro so someone liked it although the panels attach differently that other examples that I like better.
The book is real, the panels and their attachment method is possible, I guess but I am not sure what the material is here. The center plaque is possible but not likely and the engraving on neither example is likable enough for me. Its a nice attempt and such but with the panel attachment as they are and the engraving not what I like anyway and the signature that looks horrible it would be a pass.
