Many of the well known persoanailties such as Rochus Misch and the RKT's have been corresponding with collectors etc for many years and as we have stated have now had enough , that said much can be learnt from other veterans who haven't had that level of contact but also saw high levels of combat and won high awards , DKiG , CCC in Gold , PVA etc.
I am currently in touch with a former SS Hauptscharfuhrer with III (Gep) Btl , Der Fuhrer Regt and although he is 90 he is still willing to speak about his war serving with Zenz Kaiser one of the real hard men of the Waffen SS.
Those who have had enough should be respected and left in peace but there are still vets from all sides who are willing to correspond and remember !!

Herr Misch is sadly not a well man, and has not replied to any correspondence for quite a while now. He gave what he described as his "final interview" last year, and publicly stated his wish to be left alone. He has earned his peace, and we should respect that. If it is his signature that you are searching for, then a brief search on the internet should find some examples, and they will be affordable too due to the vast amount of autographs that Herr Misch granted over the years.

He has now asked for privacy in his twilight years. While he used to be fit and able to deal with correspondence, he was eventually flooded with autograph requests, a situation which got so bad that he had a bath tub full of un-opened letters at one stage.

oh it is sad. i most wanted only to contact with him. He is '' living history''.Of course it is better to leave him alone and not bother him.If i had that idea years before
