Can anyone tell me anything about these pictures? I found them in my Grandfathers things, They were in a letter he'd sent home to my Grandmother stating he'd gotten them from Hitler's house. Not much more info than that. One picture is of General Model looking at the camera (this is also written on the back of the photo) and the other are various men (generals? not sure) with german writing on the back that I can't decipher.

I'm also wondering if there's a way I can find out who's writing is on the back. Thank you.

The caption identifies the names and ranks of the men on the photograph. No generals present in that group, though. They are:

    Oberst Ries, the regimental commander*
    Oberleutnant** Schwarz, the adjutant
    Oberleutnant** Falkenthal
    Oberleutnant** Nastaller (?)
    Leutnant* Cramer
    Oberleutnant** Schneider

    *) "Regimentskdr." = Regimentskommandeur
    **) "Oblt." = Oberleutnant
    ***) "Lt." = Leutnant

I see no possibility to find out who captioned the photographs.

Thank you for looking and responding! I've been curious since I found them. I looked at other pictures of Walter Model and he looks the same in every one, very stern :-)
