misspelling is a common problem decoding the names of towns, you need to have a bit knowledge of the local language. Also Yandex (Russian version of google) usually give much better search results for soviet places.

To avoid confusion, he died at Kälberbach, in the district of Crailsheim, in the state of Württemberg.

How unlucky was this Guy. Working as a medical orderly in the military hospital in Dnjepropetrowsk Ukraine.

Then he catches an infection from one of the patients and dies..

Here is a letter with death notice that was sent to a family member to inform him of the death.
He was killed in the area of Dnjeproptrowsk Ukraine.
