    It's apparently from the "Foreign Office of the German Reich"...

    I've owned several period stamps such as these over the years. This one has a genuine form, looks good.

    The Foreign Office is the same as the Foreign Ministry, dealing with foreign affairs...

    Frank: The Auswärtiges Amt (Foreign Office) was headed by Joachim von Ribbentrop 1938-1945 and was responsible for Germany's foreign policies, Embassies, Consulates and all diplomatic services. The high point of the Auswärtiges Amt's diplomatic accomplishments was the 1940 Soviet-German Non-Aggression Pact. The specific use for your Stempel is something I can't say other than it was used to stamp official Foreign Office documents, but the number at the bottom of the stamp probably offers a clue about that particular stamp. Below is a photograph of von Ribbentrop (Bundesarchive photo 183-H04810). Dwight
