After a long time of absence i have sent a couple of letters to Germany.
I got a reply from Herr Erich Rudorffer but unfortunately it's not signed. Probably he is not in a good condition any more.

    I think that's just mistake.

because as you saw, he signed in his biography and he answered to you.

I think if his isn't in good condition in now(or when he received your letter), he would not answer to you.

Hi Han, veterans in this age have their ups and downs like all old people.
When they are in a better mood or shape they sign a bunch of their documents and photos and have them ready to be sent. So when they are not feeling very well or they are unable to move and stay in bed, but letters arrive as usual from all over the world, a family member is picking the pre-signed documents and sends them over on their behalf.

For example: When i had contacted Hans-Ekkehard Bob's daughter to buy his book, i had asked her if he could write a dedication inside as well. She said that he wasn't feeling very well because he had a heart operation and couldn't sign anything but she would send me a signed photo from the pile that he had signed sometime before.

Hi Chris, Your remarks are correct. and very important fact.

Furthermore, -as Morris said- Mr. Rudorffer will be turning 97 in next month.
