Is there some significance to the initials L.W that the holder added to his signature? job or title?
And can one see the handwriting for the destination in the 1942 visa?

the L. W. initials could, in my opinion, stand for the holder’s middle names (such as Ludwig Wilhelm, for example).

As for the handwritten destination in the 1942 visa, I can offer only a speculation. According to the border police stamps on the same page, it seems that Mr. Böttcher crossed the borderline in Emmerich (am Rhein) on his way to the German Reich and then back to the Netherlands one month later. The ending of the handwritten name strongly resembles "…mmerich". This would probably be a question more suited for a native German speaker, but I think the formulation in the visa stamp does not state the destination itself, only the assigned border checkpoint where the holder is supposed to cross the borderline. (In which case, Emmerich would be the right word.)
