SS-Totenkopf Officer with Heer eagle above breastpocket
This is an interesting picture that I found on the net.
Take a look at the Totenkopf Officer. He's wearing a SS sleeve-eagle as you would expect but also a Heer-eagle above his rightpocket.
Can someone enlight me here of this strange anomaly. Thanks.

Maybe. Or maybe it was just another TK murderous bastard that couldn't laugh anyway.

May be at a jumping competition, they are all wearing spurs? Perhaps he just had his a$$ handed to him...

Could be. But I cannot imagine that he would put a Heer eagle on his uniform just for a juming competition....
And then there's the other picture of a TK-officer. He ain't on a jumping competition I think...

That wasn't my point, just that he looked miserable. Wearing of insignia against regulations was a common occurrence, I wouldn't try to read too much into it.

Yes, I understand. But I guess that more Officers did it because I've found 2 pictures of this practice at once...

SS personnel on temporary assignment to Wehrmacht units or -schools for training purposes added the breast eagle to their uniforms for the duration of the assignment.
The practice is seen in numerous period photographs.
