It's a Promotion Announcement from Oberleutnant to Hauptmann...content appears legit.
cheers, Glenn
Personally, I'm not getting a real good feel from this one. It looks Awfully "white" and new for being a 70 year old cheap paper document. No finger handling smudges, smears-nothing. I have correspondence in my files that are less than a year old and look older than this document does.

"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
I agree with you, is very well maintained, but that's not what worries me.
The paper looks good to me...
There are errors in the document? German language or historical errors?

Isn't the whiteness and clean condition of the posted image merely a function of a poor scan of the document with scanner that is set to scan in greyscale because surely the over-stamp would be a colour not a muted grey as would the signature most likely also be in coloured ink not grey?
I collect, therefore I am.
Nothing in science can explain how consciousness arose from matter.
You need to determine what name that signature reads as and who commanded Gren.Rgt 688 at the time.
I cant find information about the name of the oberstleutnant and the Generalmajor from infanterie or grenadier regiment 688.
Someone can get that information?
The generalleutnant was Rudolf Schmundt.

Von River
A quick note regarding the "whiteness" of the document:
This thread should assist with explaining why some paper items are much darker in appearance than others:
