    Hi,

Thought of sharing this rather interesting item.

Though dating from 1961, it is an entrance ticket to the trial of SD officer Adolf Eichmann, from Jerusalem.

    Rather an interesting item.

Very interesting. I would never have known this is what it was for without you telling us.

Here is an earlier entrance ticket to another war-crimes trial.

This one dates from 1945, Lublin, of ex-Majdanek Camp, crematorium-chief SS man Paul Hoffman.
He was executed after a 14 day trial, infront of 20,000 onlookers.

I know the Eichmann story well enough, but I would have never have even guessed that is what this ticket is for. Hebrew is something I don't have a clue about!

    Cheers, Ade.

    The ticket reads:

"One time entry ticket No. 558769
    For date: 19.7.61 Gate: 4
    Before Noon: X Afternoon:
    Mr/Mrs Tzila Vit
    ID No. 182683

    Signed and stamped: Beit Ha-Am"
(not sure on the right translation for this, but it would be something like 'house of assembly-Jerusalem')

I would think the red bar on this ticket is the same thing one would find on kennkarte issued outside of Germany, such as in occupied Poland? some restriction or limitation of some sort...
