I just got this in today, it came with a publication entitled Mutter und Kind, which I got for my Ehrenkreutz der Deutschen Mutter collection.
I can read Fraktur, but am unable to locate meaning for the word which appears to be 'butzu'.
The State has declared the child as its most precious ........ is the meaning I get from this sentence.
"Der Staat hat das Kind als das kostbarste butzu erklären"

Any suggestions or ideas as to what this word might mean? The poster (about A4 size) has no other markings front or rear.

I don't think 'butzu' is a single word but two words, 'but zu'.

In which case it come out something like: 'The state must declare the child as but the most precious'.

No doubt Andreas will be along to correct our destruction of his language.

    Hello Roger,

I would translate it this text as: The state must declare the child as the most precious posession.

It says GUT ZU not BUT ZU.

    Cheers,
    Emile

Quite right; although, personally, I would use the word "good" instead of "possession".

By the way, this is a slightly altered quote from Hitler's "Mein Kampf", the original text being:

"Der völkische Staat hat das Kind zum kostbarsten Gut eines Volkes zu erklären. Er muß sich als oberster Schirmherr dieses köstlichsten Segens fühlen.“

    ...i.e.:

"The völkisch state has to declare the child as being the most precious good of a people. It [= the state] must consider itself as being the supreme patron of this most delightful of blessings."

Thank you, gentlemen. This makes much more sense, now. It has been a long time since I tried to read Fraktur. I'll post some pictures of the accompanying document as soon as time permits. I really appreciate your assistance.
