Article about: Hi I am trying to track down some history relating to the following units: 1 komp Res Grenadier Batailon 437 and Artillery regiment 189. I am trying to find out where these units were based

    Hi

    I am trying to track down some history relating to the following units:

    1 komp Res Grenadier Batailon 437

    and

    Artillery regiment 189.

    I am trying to find out where these units were based and in which areas they were active.

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Artillerie Regiment 189 was part of 89 Infanterie Division, here is some history

    That is really useful - I could not find anything.

    Do you know anything about the 1 komp Res Grenadier Batailon 437? This is also very illusive.

    This should be part of the Replacement unit for Inf / Gren Regt 437 which was with the 132 ID.

    Hi there,i did have a GAB doc to AR189,but i sent it to my mate in the U.S for Xmas & it seems to have made it as far as New York & gone AWOL. I'll have a look,i may still have a pic. I may have something from 437 too. I'll have a dig about,see what i find. Stewy S

    Thanks guys

    That's been really helpful and interesting. This unit is in a soldbuch which was originally attributed to a guy who was supposed to be in Caen. He ended up working for a British work company after the war.
