ww2 German Ones have a holy man or woman in the back, german who died in italy dont. This last ones have an inscription in black and red.

Death cards can be found from both Protestant and Roman Catholic families. These were sent put by the family or given out in church at rememberance services. Still done today. They were often printed in quantity, so don't worry if you see more than one of the same soldier. But beware of fakes of the more popular content, SS, Fallschirmjager, Heer Panzer, etc.

I would have to disagree with the comment about Italian front cards.
