Attached is a Wound badge in black document i've had for a few years issued from a Reserve Hospital.
Not that interesting in itself but it was issued to a member of SS Infanterie Regt 11 for a wound suffered near Beresina in Russia on 6/7/1941.
SS Inf Regt 11 was at that time part of the Das Reich Divison but it only existed between 1/12/40 and November 1941 having previously been SS Totenkopf Standarte 11.
I'm sure other docs to this Regiment exist but i haven't seen any myself,
regards
Paul

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
Yes that's interesting as well Ade , i assume at that time he was an Unterscharfuhrer equivelant rank to Unteroffizier.
I also have his discharge document from just after the war which shows him still with the SS with the rank of Hauptscharfuhrer.

Here is his discharge document from the US 1st Infantry Divison , " The Big Red One " discharge centre.
Nort sure what unit he was with when he surrendered but he managed to avoid Russian captivity !! Looks like he was disabled due to wounds and damage to his lung / chest.
Enquiries with the WAsT stated he passed away in 1995.
