    Default WWI ID's from the far-east

    Hi,

    This might be interesting, a new perspective on WWII ID's, but from the far east, China:

    1. Post-war 1945 Electricity company service workers ID;

    2. Occupied Indonesia, ID issued for foreigners, issued by the Japanese;

    3. Chinese UNRRA: CNRRA, circa 1946-1947, issued in Shanghai.

    4. ID issued in occupied Shanghai 29.6.1944, has a MP stamp applied to it;

    5. Occupied Shanghai 1944, Japanese Army management, electricity workers ID;

    Any questions, comments, please ask.

    Hi Neil,

    These are really interesting and I'm sure represent an area of ID collecting where few have gone. I've never seen any of these types of ID's before. How easy are they to find where you are? What about dual language ID's issued by the Japanese in some of the Islands they occupied? Thanks for bringing these fascinating IDs to the light of day!

    Best,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,

    Thanks for the reply.
    I have never seen dual language ID's, but mostly are in the language of country they occupied. Where I am at can find them at markets and online shops.One can find them, but need to look for them at the right places. Slowly they are becoming hard to find.

    Ask questio0ns, will be happy to answer them.

    Neil.

    Hi,

    Here is an example of dual language item, from 1942 Shanghai, during the Japanese occupation.
