    Hi as a novice collector i would like to sincerely thank you for the fantastic information contained within this thread. I hope to post two fakes (8th Baons) i bought last year from a trusted source and so called expert. Unfortunately i succumbed to the collar tab fakes that were being sold last year on ebay as mentioned by our esteemed moderator Mr Zawadzki.

    These were definitely stamped out of white metal as well. I dont like the look of this one though.

    These "lead cast" types seem to crop up amongst the SPK a fair amount.
    These maybe a type used by the veterans associations when they are short of a badge.

    I don't think thats the original spinner nut for the badge (A Kirkwood or GR-Tech spinner would have helped the ID ), .. and I would have preferred to see it numbered on the reverse ..

    I agree with Gary - looks like an alloy version rather than a actual product, and WHY would it be made in Lwow when the Squadron was formed in late 1940 ?
