Many thanks for your post the following is what I have been able to glean from the internet for you on Pplk. Marian Tarnowski.
Date of Birth: 25th March 1895
Service Number: P1324
RAF Rank : Squadron Leader : Polish Rank Podpulkownik
1936-1937 Commanding Officer of the 33rd Observation Squadron
1939 at Dęblin
Awards : KN, KW, ZKZ, ML x 4.
Date of Death : 11th October 1954
Place of Burial: Penley Cemetery Scetion D Grave Number: 10918.
That is all that I have found so far, unfortunately No Photograph found has yet.

Hello TMZ,
With reference to Marian Tarnowski, I have gone through Rocznik Oficerski 1924,1928.1932 and found the following information for you:
1924 : Pages: 655, 749 Porucznik serving with 10PAP.
1928 : Pages: 437, 469 Kapitan Art. 96th in Seniority promoted 1st July 1925 serving with the Ministry of War
1932 : Pages: 231, 740 Kapitan 22nd in Seniority serving with 3PLot KN, KW.

Thank you so much, Andrzej. I suppose his WW2 service/units will be only available from MOD.
Does any of this history explain the inclusion of the unusual badge on his grave? (My knowledge of PAF abbreviations is nil)

His Service Record is held by the PISM, they hold all the PAF Service Records from WW2.
