Article about: Here is a book by Mrs Rosa Bailey, however my post has to do with one of the books heroes, LT Aleksander Zborzyl-Mirecki who died defending the City. He is featured in her book.

    The only thing from internet is the picture of Lt Zborzyl-Mirecki grave. Everything else is in my collection.

    Another prominent Lwow defender was (General) then a Podporucznik Mond. I have many of His things in my collection.

    Hand inscription says : I Platoon, Lt Monds Company " Kaducka " (kaduk means devil), dated 11/8/1918.

    Defenders of the Lwow Citadel. Number 3 from left is Lt (General) Bernard Mond. Look at that helmet he is wearing.
    Girl standing next to Lt (gen) Mond is Helena Bujwidowna.
    She tried to volunteer to fight early but they did not want to accept Her. She went and fought a Ukrainian sentry and took His rifle away losing few teeth in the process. She later became the First Veterinary doctor in Poland.
    Born in Krakow. Also She was known as a good sniper and finished the War as a Lieutenant with a KW.
    Later She became involved in WW2 resistance in France and was sent to Concentration Camp Ravensbruck that She also survived.
