    Default Genuine Kossak painting?

Jerzy Kossak is famous for painting Polish cavalry scenes...This may not be the right place to ask and the quality of the pictures are poor, but would anyone know if this one could be genuine? I've seen his works go for 2-3 thousand pounds at art auctions.

Many thanks to our invaluable help as always.

    Hi,
considering the blur pictures, this is what i can tell :
    Oil painting probably on canvas.
The artist is very strong in horse representation, and less in human representation.
The white heavy paint looks ok :

there is a rule in oïl painting:
    Fat on skinny.
Means the heavy white is always on the black ( or dark ) skinny paint.

    Well, for me, looks ok.

A kossak uniform specialist can help to complet the identification.

Back looks ok too but it seems there is a kind of translucent sticky tape on the back. Maybe to protect the writting.

Go and search a thread named : Battle of Bzura..." . I have shown a genuine no question with papers painting by Jerzy Kossak.

    Compare the signatures.

Many fake Kossak paintings around, many that fool experts. If one thinks they can get a deal on Ebay on one..........

Also the picture frame looks crappy....

    Just my 2 zlote.

One thing to know would be that Jerzy Kossak quality of paintings declined in post War years due to his health problems. Painting made pre 1945 are of lot better quality. later, past 1945 Kossak painted many copies of his originals.
    Typically sizes of painting differ.
Here is another genuine with provenance Kossak that I almost bought from my Brother. Titled : "Retreat of Napoleon from Moscow ."
