His Bio from the same book. There is no picture there. It is likely that the passport photo is the only surviving picture.
He was a Doctor and was made Major in 1919.

This dedication is post 1931, as he became commander of the 21st in 1931.
It belongs to my brother now along with the VM set of General Lukowski. He obtained both of these fairly recently, however both General Lukowski and Colonel Wir-Konas were surrounded together on their way to Lwow by a regiment of soviet cavalry, and both of these officers had gotten in a car together with other soviets to go and negotiate terms of surrender.

Katyn victimsKatyn victimsThis promotion document, or rather Officers Patent resides in a friends collection. It was given to Lieutenant Colonel Karol Hodala in 1932.
My friend did not want to show the whole document, so it is cut off some.
What is very interesting is that Colonel Hodala fought for Lwow twice, like many officers, once in 1918 and again with 49th Infantry Regiment was going to Lwow in September 1939. On the way to Lwow in 1939 his Regiment destroyed a SS Regiment "Germania" and the story is that Hitler never allowed for that Regiment to be rebuilt.
Colonel Hodala was a winner of 4th and 5th class of Virtuti Militari, very brave man. For all his efforts he received a bullet in the back of a head in a dirty basement.

    Hi itakdalej,

On the family photo there is Lucjan along with his wife Stanislawa and one of two sisters. Her name is Ewa Garwonska. The other, younger sister was my late grandmother, Zofia Gawronska.
I can't express how greatful I am to see these pictures.
    God bless.
