Another famous Polish engraver worth mentioning is Stanislaw Reising from Warsaw. Majority of Border Guard badges (KOP and Straz Graniczna) was produced by this maker. Below we can find wonderful example of such a badge with case of issue:

Yes, definitely a wonderful example! First time I am seeing a Reising cased badge. Thanks for sharing this superb cased example. A real beauty.

By chance do you have pictures of the reverse of this badge? The reason I ask is that it appears similar in most respects to one I have. I’ll post pictures in the pre-war badge thread. Two differences with mine are the opaque red enamel and gold plated crown and talons. I'm curious if the one you’ve pictured is hallmarked. Mine appears to be made of silver, although I have not tested it, but does not have any maker or silver proof markings.

Happy New Year - Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku 2014 - to everyone!

Today's delivery from the postman - a Znak Żandarmerii (Military Police Badge) complete with its glassine envelope packaging. The last hurrah of 2013.



The die stamped badge with its factory applied oxidized finish is in mint condition and has all indications of never having been issued. The information printed on the envelope solves the question of who manufactured these badges, which I did not know (until now) and is not stated in any literature I’m aware of. The Sawicki / Wielechowski badge reference lists the maker names of the badges it contains, but is silent as to maker of this badge.





Interestingly, the badge is complete with a pair of rings, presumably to be sewn onto the uniform from which the badge was suspended - ?. The rings are soldered at the seam.





The badge is slightly vaulted.



The badge was found in Germany. The seller could only offer the following on its background:

To your questions, I can say little. After the death of the father of my wife in 1996, we found the badge in a cupboard in his house. He served in the terrible Second World War, like many German men of 1939-1945.

Perhaps in heavily bombed Warsaw after the 1939 campaign this German soldier paid a visit to Michrowski’s shop located at the address printed on the envelope - ?? Alas, we’ll never know.

Jerusalem Cross... I know it does not belong to pre-WWII era, but I wanted to present it in original box and brochure. I think it is rather rare set.

I have found recently next sample of the Military Police Badge with its glassine envelope packaging, which was sold in Poland via Allegro (the rule of the series ???).



As you can see its price was significantly higher than yours from German eBay
