    Your post brings back good memories. My first genuine pre-war item that started my collection was also a uniform button all those years ago. I found it in a pile of post war communist buttons at a local militaria swap meet. There it was – a proud crowned eagle sitting amidst the communist kurczaki. I distinctly remember the thrill.

    Keep on hunting. Being in Poland you certainly are situated well!
