Auction ended on gunbroker or something's wrong with link ... it's not working anymore. What was the price ? I'm hunting for this holster since few years ... unfortunately i'm not to rich so usually i cant afford them. But collecting is not only the money, it's also luck and patiency So i'm still waiting for mine ... i mean in very good condition - battlefield relic i already own

Speaking about this from allegro (from Warsaw) - i have seen it with mine own eyes few years ago on one of the events in Poland - it is OK, but it was damaged and is after perfect renovation. One of the straps was changed in early 90's but the specialist was a master so there is no chance of noticing that from photos on the internet.

I am new to this posting but i am very happy to gain the knowledge each of you has to share. In more than 25 years of looking at gun shows I have only seen two original holsters of this type but was not able to purchase because of the price. Thanks for the educational discussion of these items your knowledge is appreciated.
John, welcome aboard, and you’re most welcome! Glad you’ve found the discussion here informative.

Thanks for sharing that. I would never have guessed it had undergone some restoration work. Which strap was replaced?

A.J in this auction holster front strap was replaced. Speaking of my digged out holster there is really nothing special to show ... condition is very bad as for an item from the ground. I've bought it few years ago as a no-doubt base material to further search for normal condition.

Pat I believe that auction was back in July. You might be able to contact the seller or the Gunbroker admin to find out what it sold for. As to your battlefield recovery - I'm envious that you even have that. I would love to even have a faithful reasonably priced reproduction of the Vis holster.

Not to mention a prewar Polish Vis 35. Unfortunately I don't have deep pockets. However sometimes one can get lucky, right? So keep the faith!

Thanks pat. Still interesting to see. For what it's worth, here's a relic that I once owned. I purchased it just for the barrier in the magazine storage as it appeared in good condition and was needed to replace the barrier missing on another holster also since sold.

I bought my relic with hope for restoration. Unfortunately after almost a year spent in conservation at the museum the results were almost invisible. Anyway i'm still glad to have it cause it's a valuable source material for the comparison with items on the market (copies and "original")

I'd say Pat's and Tony's holsters can 'talk' - they can give their 'opinion' as to whether another holster is a replica or not!

I'm very careful with searching for my holster. As You know combination of rarity + good price means that there is a lot of fakes/copies. Internet and small photos on the auctions strongly enhance the risk of mistakes or wrong assessment. I prefer to take a look with my own eyes, take it in my hands and inspect carefully. Some day my holster will come ...

In my case I hope so too, but unfortunately I never even see replicas in person. My searching is online out of necessity.

Just to add that we can learn from the photos of your battlefield relic. Thank you for posting them.
