Pistols, Rifles, Machine Guns and Crew Served Weapons of Partitioned Poland and the Polish 2nd Republic

Article about: by stoggie I don't know what the K represents, but I do recall one for sale that also had that marking, and it was said to be from the Krakow armoury. For all I know it could be a inspector

An image taken in Jaroslaw (date unknown) of a reenactment of an historical event.
Note the fellow at the far left of the photo carrying what appears a Berthier kbk. wz.1916
or Fusil Mle 1907/15. Anyone know what this reenactment was all about?

Hmmm... that fellow does look like he is carrying a Berthier. From the way he is dressed and the long scythe like pikes I'd guess its a reenactment of the Kościuszko Uprising but why a Berthier is anybody's guess.

    Too much vodka perhaps?

Maybe they were reenacting several different Polish uprisings. I'm guessing again but those might be Imperial Russian reenactors in the second photo and in the third photo the troops on the right (in parade formation) look Napoleonic. Dąbrowski Legions?

A bit off topic but nonetheless a fascinating web site about a unique part of Polish history and culture.

Chris those are wonderful photographs of Berthiers and Lebels, as well as the Maxim plus Polish field and anti aircraft artillery. I love seeing all those the beautiful Polish regimental standards too.

    Thanks for posting.
