Pistols, Rifles, Machine Guns and Crew Served Weapons of Partitioned Poland and the Polish 2nd Republic

Article about: by stoggie I don't know what the K represents, but I do recall one for sale that also had that marking, and it was said to be from the Krakow armoury. For all I know it could be a inspector

Chris those are wonderful photographs of Berthiers and Lebels, as well as the Maxim plus Polish field and anti aircraft artillery. I love seeing all those the beautiful Polish regimental standards too.

This M95 carbine retains its proper configuration and length stock. Note front barrel band with stacking rod and bayonet lug.

Unfocused but the Austrian military acceptance stamp can still be made out on the barrel.

I'm not sure if the Kr.21 is a Polish or Austrian marking. As well there are the letters R Z K stamp across the butt stock closer to the wrist.

Possible serial number matching the stock to the receiver (unfortunately no pic of the receiver or barrel serial number).

I believe this marking has been seen on Polish or SCW rifles.

Pistols, Rifles, Machine Guns and Crew Served Weapons of Partitioned Poland and the Polish 2nd Republic
Again not sure if Kr.23 is a Polish or Austrian stamp. Possibly a workshop, depot or unit marking.

    **Update**

I found a reference to the Kr.23 marking on the Manowar Hungarian Weapons and History site re Polish Austro Hungarian Mannlicher Rifles and Carbines which states that on the Polish M95 "The right side of the buttstock maybe arsenal depot marked like 'Zb' or 'Zbr-1' or 'Kr-23' (Kr = Krakow)."
