Hi Tom, here it gets a little trickier. Complicating things is that these early eagles were being copied well before the more common wz.19’s caught the attention of counterfeiters. Many were produced to a higher standard than the newer knock offs, and over the decades have taken on wear and patina of their own. Also, Legion era eagles were 'copied' for veterans during the 20's and 30's, although these are themselves considered quite collectible. Lastly, being no expert on the early eagles, and without benefit of a hands-on inspection, I’ll comment on only the ones I am quite certain are copies. As such please consider these comments accordingly. Hopefully we can get the input of an expert in the early eagles.

23 - might be a copy (see post # 667 and 668 http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/polish...agles-1980-67/ ) deceptive fakes of these PSZ eagles with the twin fastening blades are now floating about the market.

24 - Not sure either way, but if genuine that’s a beautiful Wielkopolskie Army eagle.

    25 - copy

    27 - copy

32 – rare Polish Army in Eastern Russia and Siberia pattern, but not sure of authenticity.

    33 & 34 – copies

    40 - copy

Tom if I'm correct I think #8 (not 100% sure), 11, 14, and 21 are AK produced eagles. The Wielkopolskie eagle looks very nice, if original than like Tony said its a beauty!

Thank you Gentleman for your replies and all the great info about these eagles.

Are any eagle experts familiar with Eagles 23, 24, 26, 32, 35, 41 and 42 and can confirm if they are authentic or reproductions?

    Thank you,

    Tom

    Hi there,

Only 23 is genuine. On underground cap badges. 11, 14 and 21 are AK eagles. 8 is replica of AL cap badge. If you are going to get rid of the ugly 29 drop me a line

    Hi again,

Correct. 24 (wielkopolski eagle) and 32 (Polish Army in Russia) are copies.

    Piotr
