Hello Robin,

May I be the first to welcome you to the Forum, with regards to the photograph of your Great Grandfather it shows him in the uniform of a soldier in General Jozef Haller's "Blue Army", that fought in France and later in Poland during the war's of 1918-1921.

One of the other Forum members with better eye sight will be able to confirm and possibly provide you with some more information on your Great Grandfather.

Thank you so much! That is fancinating! He would have been one of the Polish American Volunteers in that case. He never told his family anything of his history but My great grandpa said he came over because the 'kyzacks' or Russians or so
Body were invading so they got out.
