Totenkopf on a cross......what is it.

Article about: I bought this in a German antiques shop and thought it interesting. Can anyone tell anything about it?

    100 bucks...?Bit steep.....coulda got yourself a nice WW1 iron cross.....if it was cheaper I probaly would have bought it myself just for a bit of fun.....nice souvenir from Germany

    We all have been screwed once or twice (or more) in this hobby. $100 is nothing to sneeze at but it's really not that much. I have spent more than that on just one bad item. You have been around here for awhile and this badge must have not looked familiar to you? Described as WW1 I could see your err though. Look on the bright side, Lanier and Sinclair don't freeze and you can drop a line tomorrow. I have to wait 3 more months!

    Yes.......there were nice WW1 EKs and wound badges for sale at the shop, which I was familiar with, but I couldn't help but take a gamble on this badge. I guess it would be better to gamble a worm for a nice striper bass.
