Znak Żandarmerii (military police badge)

Article about: hello people, I just bought this badge, on the back it say's 2047 Znak zandamerii Could somebody give me some more info,plz. Thanks. Jojo

    My Znak has number 5292, so like Yours Tony is from 5 Dywizjon Żandarmerii

    Well, at the moment no record is known. The process of assigning a number to the badges started in May 1939 but was never finished because of the war. Not all provost soldiers received the badges. It is very possible that the badges with the numbers were registered on internal lists at Prowost Squadrons command.
